Re: [TRNSYS-users] TRNSYS-EES coupling error

Hoofar,

Unfortunately I think the problem may have to do with EES being located in the C:\Program Files (x86)\ directory. I am a bit surprised that spaces in the pathname are giving you trouble, you should be able to type the path enclosed in double quotes and have it resolve correctly. I will certainly have a look and make sure that we don't have a problem there. Can you send me the TRNSYS project and EES file that you are working with? I can see if it is possible to recreate the problem here.

However, spaces in path names aside, Windows is very restrictive about allowing software to create or modify files in the \Program Files\ directory. Even if the user account has administrative rights, the software itself may not and Windows will block the communication. I realize in your email you said that you cannot move EES out of the \Program Files (x86)\ so I realize this response may be of limited use.

regards,

 David

Hoofar,

Did you find a solution to this problem? I am just back from a week out of town and I don't see a response.

regards,

 David

Dear TRNSYS users,

I am coupling TRNSYS with EES. EES is installed in (C:\Program Files (x86) \EES32). After I changed the location of EES in type 66a, got the following error:

"TRNSYS Message 48 : The TRNSYS processor has reported that an > unrecognized control card was found while trying to read the input > file. This error can be caused by underspecifying a required number of > items in the input file. For example, specifying only 9 parameters > after a "PARAMETERS 10" card has been read can cause this error. The > line that caused this error is listed in the reported information > below. Reported information: compressor.ees

When I run the same example in another computer, which has EES installed in (C:\EES32), it works. I found that labels with spaces are not allowed in TRNSYS ((Program Files (x86) is read by TRNSYS as Program files because of the space between Program files and (x86)!!). As I cannot change the location of EES in my main server, I tried to solve the problem by adding double-quote “C:\Program Files (x86) \EES32”or single-quote ‘C:\Program Files (x86) \EES32’ but I got the following error again:

The EES program was not found at the specified location.

How can I solve this problem?

Best regards,

Hoofar
