Re: [TRNSYS-users] Number format when using parametric table in TRNEdit

Christian,

Could you please send me the edited *.dck file that is the basis for the parametric runs (I guess it would be called test.dck while test1.dck, test2.dck etc. are all generated by TRNEdit). Also could you please tell me which version of TRNSYS you are running. You can tell the version number by looking in either the *.log or *.lst file that is generated when you run a dck. The *.log and *.lst can be opened with a text editor.

kind regards,

 David

Nordine,
Thank you. It was a simple typo, it should say "201". I already made sure, that the logical unit is not in use.
The error message:

*** Fatal Error at time   :         0.000000
Generated by Unit     : Not applicable or not available
Generated by Type     : Not applicable or not available
TRNSYS Message    141 : The utility subroutine DATA cannot read the specified input data file. Make sure that the file is ASSIGNed correctly and that the file has the correct format
Reported information  : ASSIGNED LOGICAL UNIT 200

Here it looks like it tries to read in logical unit 200, which does not exist. This is the line in the .dck file:

PAR_LU_CLIMATE=2.0100E+02

... which is used as the 2nd parameter of Type15 Weather reader.

Hi,
In your example you're talking of 201 and 210. Those are 2 different
logical units.
Can you first make sure of your example in your email. It may just be
a misunderstanding in your email.

Then, I think your issue is caused by an other logical unit in the
same file.
You must make sure that there is no other 201 (210) logical unit used
in that .dck.
I personally started my own logical unit from 39000 and it works fine.

Dear all,
I have a parametric table with a list of logical units, which I use
to choose different weather files for my simulation.
Some of the runs are omitted due to errors. It seems that these
errors are caused by the number formatting.

For instance when opening the first .dck file, e.g. TEST1.dck, it
says something like

ASSIGN "Weather\file.tm2" 2.0100E+02

Even though I just put "210" in the parametric table. The error
disappears when I change the number into "210" and run the .dck file
again.
How can I circumvent this propblem?

Thank you
