Re: [TRNSYS-users] TRNSYS 17 error when using type 534 tanks.

Lukas,
  The method that I usually use is to go into the .\Trnsys17\Tess Models\PlugIns\ directory and copy the *.dat file (Type534.dat for example) that I want to use. I then paste the copy into the project directory: .\Trnsys17\My Projects\Project1\Type534.dat.  When I drag out the Type534 proforma in my simulation, I open it and go to the External Files tab and make sure to write the entire path: c:\Trnsys17\My Projects\Project1\Type534.dat in the field. You are correct that the parameters get overwritten based on what you enter in the plugin but if I understand correctly, your runtime error occurs when you try to launch the plugin, correct?
Best,
 David

Thanks for the response, David,

Well I chose to simply use the same *.dat file that was used in one of the TESS examples, specifically example "Type 533-534". Do you think this could be the problem? As I understand it, the parameters get overwritten when I define them in the parameter menu of the tank.

Regards, Lukas.

Lukas,
  This is a tricky error to diagnose and fix because it has to do with the operating system and whether certain resources are available (and more complicatedly whether Windows knows where to look for those resources.) What I would recommend you try is to make sure that you have fully specified the path to the *.dat file (in Type534's External Files tab) starting with c:\Trnsys17\MyProjects\...

Hello all,

I started getting Run-time "380" errors when using type 534 tanks. The error pops up when I try to access the component menu to change the parameters and so on. Has anyone come across this issue? Any help would be much appreciated.

Furthermore, maybe someone has an alternative suggestion for which tank I should use. The requirements include:

* 2 submerged heat exchangers
* 1 Auxiliary electrical heater
* 1 port (liquid inlet + outlet)
* Stratification

Thank you for helping out a new user to make full use of the software.

Have a great day,
ME student, Lukas Jasiūnas.
