Re: [TRNSYS-users] Active Layer - Problem

Florian,
I have seen that behavior as well; what it comes down to is the time base that you have selected in TRNBuild. If the wall transfer function coefficients are computed based on 1-hour intervals then you are going to see some discrete behavior if your timestep gets too far away from your time base. It is best to have your time step and your time base match but that isn't practical. Try generating the wall coefficients with a 0.25 hour time base and see if that helps.
Best,
 David

Dear TRNSYS-users,

I am simulating a room with an active layer in the separating wall.

I tried to change the simulation timestep to 1 min. to get more exact results.

What I realized is, that the output started to show discrete results in an hour interval.

My Question: Could it be that TRNSYS has a limitation in the active layer system, to solve it in one hour timesteps only?

Can I change this somehow?

Thanks for your help,

Florian
