Hi everybody I have the same problem as Cramer (and Fred after him) while trying to simulate air cooling with type 32. See below the last statement of Trace before simulation crashes (no water flow actually). Has anybody ever solved this issue? Thanks a lot. Hi All,
I'm having some problems Type 32, the simple cooling coil. It crashes a little way into the simulation (at hour 607.75) with an error about an enthalpy <0. However, it's at a time when the coil has airflow but no water flow (cooling is not required at this timestep). I see in the code of type 32 that if either flows are 0 (actually, <1e-6) then it should simply set outputs = inputs and return. Any ideas what's going on?
Thanks, Cramer -- *Cramer Silkworth 212 219 2255 | silkworth at transsolar.com <mailto:silkworth at transsolar.com> Transsolar Inc. | 134 Spring Street Suite 601 | New York, NY 10012 ----- From fbetz at aeieng.com Fri Mar 26 14:43:20 2010 From: fbetz at aeieng.com (Fred Betz) Date: Fri, 26 Mar 2010 14:43:20 -0500 Subject: [TRNSYS-users] CoolingCoil Type32 error Message-ID: <CC53390F16CC5446BFDB4B68CF0DAFA40A86D2AD@AEI-MB.aeieng.lan> TRNSYS Users, I am getting a strange error: Attempted to take the log of a negative number. -enthalpy (H) is less than or equal to zero. This happens right when the simulation starts so only the initial conditions should be taken into consideration as no information has been passed between components yet. The air temperatures (dry and wet bulb) are higher than the water temperature and as this is a cooling coil, that would make sense. If someone please shed some light on this error I would appreciate it. Thanks, Fred Fred Betz PhD., LEED AP Sustainable Systems Analyst |
