Re: [TRNSYS-users] trnsys3d pug-in sketchup8 : problem of adjacent wall for several others zones

Dear Pauline,
Dear Angela,
Dear Trnsys users,

I think the best and easy action in order to divide the surface automatically is to use the function "Intersect faces\With model" for every surface with adjacent zone (see the attachement)).

This operation will divide automatically the surface in "n" subsurfaces according to the adjacent zones and more important will set with which zone this subsurface is in contact ("outside boundary object").

I hope this helps,

PS: This action is not indicated in TRNSYS3D Manual.

Dear Pauline,

I think your problem is easy to solve: divide the surface (NOT the zone) that is adjacent to two different zones into two surfaces, exactly where the adjacent zones adjoin. It is important that the adjacent surfaces have the same number of vertices and that the vertices exactly line up. Now define the adjacents (now the surface matching tool should also do the job):
surface 1 of zone 1 to zone 2
surface 2 of zone 1to zone 3

I know this hint is included somewhere in the manuals, but I just can't find the section right now.

Hope that helps,
best regards
Angela
