Re: [TRNSYS-users] Trnsys3D

Hello Nicolas

For your second question, version 2.0 of trnbuild shows the import option when you open the software without any project loaded:

But once a project is loaded, the file menu changes and allows you to reexport your .b17 to a .idf.

You must close the project or open a new sessions before importing another .idf.

Best regards.

Ps : I’m interested in answers for your first question…

Hello,

I'm trying to use trnsys3D, which seems very promising.

I have two very simple questions.

1)

Is it possible to define two walls in the same plane, as shown on the following figure ?

It's a door inside a wall.

According to my experience, this is not possible because TRNSYS3D will define two walls :

-          the door (0.9*2.01),

-          the full wall (3*3.44), and not (3*3.44) - (0.9*2.01)

Could you please correct me if I'm wrong/confirm what I think/give me any trick that I would have missed? (Probably the only option is the following :

2)

The manual seems to say that it is possible to directly import .idf file in TRNbuild…

But this option is not available in my version of TRNbuidl (2.0) :

Is this normal ?

Thanks,

Kind regards,
