Re: [TRNSYS-users] Using LCC

Hal,

If you want a free compiler, you could also try GNU FORTRAN - https://www-old.cae.wisc.edu/pipermail/trnsys-users/2008/003975.html

But as qichao says, the free version of Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 with C++ works perfectly for making TRNSYS types, I think it is the best free option. It can directly use the project templates (*.dsp) generated with File/Export as… C++ in TRNSYS Simulation Studio.

SYS-users] Using LCC

Has anyone used the LCC compiler to generate a component defined by a C function?

I spent the last three hours trying to get it working but I am afraid I will let it go.  It is beyond me.  I probably have to buy a “Microsoft Visual Studio.Net” although I have no idea what it is.   I am assuming it works – as promised in the TRNSYS Manual.

The other option, probably safer, would be to buy a Compaq Fortran compiler (the recommended compiler in the manual) and try to remember Fortran.

Any comment as to which way I should go would be most appreciated.
