Re: [TRNSYS-users] (no subject)

Dear Christos,

There are many variables that you can change in Type56 from TrnEdit: those are the variables that you can set as inputs to Type56. For example, schedules, heat transfer coefficients, wall resistances, etc. In general, all the variables that can be set in a typical 'DEF button', as described in the manual Volume 6, section 6.2.2.3 Specifying the required input'.

There are many other variables that you cannot change, because you would need to modify the building description file. One alternative is to use GenOpt: please follow the tutorial that very kindly Michaël Kummert shared with us (http://sel.me.wisc.edu/trnsys/demos/index.html#GenoptType56).

Best regards,

Diego

Hello,
I am new using Trnsys 16 and i would find useful some help in my project. I want to compare the heat transmitted from the walls into a multi-zone building. Since i am going to use several different walls in the same building i would like to know if it is possible to set as a parameter the type of wall (or it's characteristics) and run the project using TRNEdit. I have already tried using Gen-Opt but i didn't find a way. I don't have TRNOpt. If it is not possible to do this with TRNEdit please inform me about the suitable program to do so. As i also need to do the same with the radiation transmitted through the windows, please describe me any difference (if there is any) in the procedure required comparing the walls.
Thanks in advance,
Christos
