Welcome to the TRNSYS Users Forum.
The forum is a place where people can interact and have discussions about different topics involving the use of the TRNSYS software package. Here you can post topics for discussion or questions on using TRNSYS and get advice from other users or TRNSYS experts. This forum is not intended for detailed technical support. Users should contact their distributor’s hotline for such assistance.
Some tips for success on using the forum:
- Follow the Forum Rules posted in Forum Administration.
- There are categories for different types of topics and questions. Post your topic or question into the proper category.
- Before posting a topic or question search the existing topics (and the TRNSYS Users listserv archive or Post archive) to see if a similar topic or question has already been answered.
- Use a descriptive topic name. Don’t use attention getting subjects, they don’t get attention and only annoy people.
- State the version of TRNSYS and which add-ons your are using.
- Include enough specific details for your topic of question to be answered. Just posting “Why am I getting an error?” without describing the specific error and what you are trying to do when you get the error will not receive a response that fixes your issue.
- Remember when people help you, they are doing you a favor. Be patient, help people out by posting good descriptions of what you need help with, and be polite even if a response does not solve your issue.
- Moderators may edit your post for clarity or move your topic to a more appropriate category.
hello, i'm having a promblem with making the thermostat work, after connecting it to an equation of an (ON and OFF) like the one in the picture. it still shows a zero value. how can i make it work with connecting it to the three of these ( type56, type941, equation).
thanks!
Try implementing your logic with the Type 166 basic thermostat instead of an equation block.
I added both thermostat and an equation, I want the heat pump to work on both of heating and cooling mood during the summer and winter time. should i remove the equation and only depend on the thermostat?
Thanks!
@tagreedwael Type 166 works for both heating and cooling. Connect 'Control signal for heating' from Type 166 to 'Heating control signal' on your heat pump, and connect 'Control signal for cooling' from Type 166 to 'Cooling control signal' on your heat pump. You should only use the thermostat to send control signals to the heat pump, not an equation block.
thank you for the fast response, but when i removed the equation it showed me no temperature in the zone, and the heating and cooling loades are gone from the plot, what should i do? i'm new to this hope you can tell me what to do 🙂
@tagreedwael Try looking at the examples of Type 166, that might help you. For example, in the Examples / HVACTemplates / System1 example, you can right-click on the 'HVAC System' macro (looks like a green box), select 'Open Macro', and see how Type 166 is used to control each of the zones in the example building. Click the 'Go up' (green box with blue arrow) icon or hit Esc to return to the main project window.
