Re: [TRNSYS-users] Floating photovoltaic component in TRNSYS

Gokula,

Type567 contains a somewhat simple electrical model of the PV in that it asks you to provide the electrical efficiency either as a constant value, as an input, or in a performance map. If you choose one of the two modes in which the efficiency is a constant or an input and the value is not adjusted according to the cell temperature then you're not going to see any change in electrical performance with a change in cell temperature. Your best option is probably to use the performance map version but then you'll need to edit the data file to describe how the electrical efficiency of the PV changes with cell temperature.

kind regards,

 David

Dear TRNSYS users,

I would like to know the suitability of using Type567-6 (TESS component) for floating photovoltaics. When I vary the back surface temperature of the component, I did not find any impact on the power generation from it. Please let me know whether the type567-6 is suitable for it or not.

Please also advice which component 'type' is suitable for floating photovoltaics, especially for studying the impact of back surface temperature on the power generation.

Thank you so much!

Best regards,
Gokula Manikandan Senthil Kumar
