Re: [TRNSYS-users] Infiltration & Exfiltration

Mohamed,

Type56 is only taking care of the thermal energy balance of the model. As such it doesn't really care how much air goes out of a zone to the ambient. The ambient is assumed to be unaffected by the air leaving the building. Where the amount of exfiltration air matters is on the pressure balance and it is CONTAM/Type97 that deals with that part of the problem. So in short, there is no need to tell Type56 about the amount of air leaving the zone; it only cares about the amount of air coming in and the conditions of that air.

  kind regards,

 David

Dear users,
I am working with trnsys and contam, modelling windows with two way openings.
Contam provides results such infilitrations (INF) and exfiltrations (EXF) but TRNSYS takes into account only infiltrations.
In order to extract air from zones, can I specify a negative infiltration ? or as I intend to do is sum up the infiltration and exfiltration and define it as infiltration in Type56 ?

Thank you.

Mohamed.
