Re: [TRNSYS-users] Question regarding energy demand of a building

Paris,

You are on the right track. There are a number of other heat pump models available in the TESS HVAC library; like Type143 they too will give you COP as a function of entering conditions. They differ from Type143 in that the Type143 external performance data file is for a specific heat pump capacity while the heat pumps in the TESS library have normalized performance data files and the heat pump capacity is entered as parameters to the model.

kind regards,

 David

Hello everyone,

I understand that the cooling and heating energy demands generated by Type56 are thermal energy. If I use a heat pump, that has a certain COP, to provide the cooling and heating energy, does this mean the electric energy requirement of the heat pump is (cooling + heating energy)/COP? Can type 143 be used to calculate how the COP change? Is there any other type that I can use to calculate the COP?

Best regards,

Paris
