Re: [TRNSYS-users] Modeling active layer with Type 399 connected to type 56

Hi Hassan,

You have to change the mass flow rate; please see Eq. (3) in the paper below:

“Generation of a simulation model for chilled PCM ceilings in TRNSYS and validation with real scale building data”.

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] Modeling active layer with Type 399 connected to type 56

Hello everyone,

I'm simulating a thermal active layer installed in the vertical external wall of a building using Type 399 connected to Type 56

As a first step, I connect Type 399 only to one facade by considering that the active layer occupied only 4 m² of the wall while the total area of this wall is 48 m²

I include in the TRNBuild file of the building a new layer "HIGH_RESISTANCE" that have the same area of the portion of the facade where the active layer is installed (4 m²) in which I define the energy gain on side 1 and side 2 that come (outputs) from Type 399

The wall have 6 layers and the active layer is in  layer no 4 and i use 4 discretization for each layer  and the total mass flow is 60 kg/hr

when i run the simulation, I get this error:

Specific massflow -use more segments- see type description

I look in the description of Type 399, I didn't find nothing about the massflow and its relation with the discretization

does anyone have some ideas about this?

Thank you

Kind regards

Hassan
