Re: [TRNSYS-users] Inquiry about Trnsys Type

Mohammad,

You would have to code a new model; there is no way of merging Types together.

That said, I am a bit confused about your heat exchanger configuration. In a wrap around heat exchanger, the pipes are wrapped around the perimeter of the tank in a long helix shape. In a vertical tube bank heat exchanger, there is a bundle of tubes immersed in the tank and running vertically. In your case, are there tubes around the perimeter of the tank that run vertically? If so then you might look for models that say they have a mantle or jacket heat exchanger. If the tubes run vertically but are not on the perimeter then you can use Type534 with the vertical tube bank heat exchanger mode.

Kind regards,

 David

Hello, my name is Rezza.

Currently, I am using Trnsys 18.
I would like to know if there is a way for merging two component types together.
The model that i want to simulate is a vertical cylinder that has a wrap around heat exchanger and an immersed heat exchanger in the arrangement of vertical tube (the number of tubes is 60).

Therefore, in my case, I would like to merge Type 534 (Vertical Cylindrical Storage Tank With Immersed Heat Exchanger) and Type 1237 (Cylindrical Storage Tank with Wrap-Around Heat Exchanger).

Thanks.
