Michel,
Iteration mode 1 means that the component is called EVERY time one of its input values change and at least once each time step. Hooking up an integrator with this iteration mode to a component that has any sort of iteration each time step will cause issues. In iteration mode 4, the integrator is called once each time step, after everything else is converged, to perform the integration on the final values of all its inputs.
Jeff Sent from my iPhone Dear jeff,
Thanks for the quick reply. I mean indeed the sourcing fortran code of the component. Standard it is set to iteration mode 4 so that it is called after all the other components have converged but before the printers. But I was wondering why it is not giving the same final answer if you change the source fortran code to iteration mode 1, so that the component is called every time step. Shouldn't the final output of the component be the same regarding the iteration mode for type24?
Thanks again!
Kind regards, Michel
When you say "set the iteration mode to 4", are you referring to changing the source of Type 24? If so, I'm not sure why you would do this. Type 24 has been programmed to handle nearly all cases that you could throw at it. Unless you're doing something odd post-convergence, this should never have to be changed.

Dear all,
I am doing a simulation for one year and using Type24 to integrate the generated power of my solar array. However, if I set the iterationmode of Type24 to "mode 1" (calculated every hour) or "mode 4" (calculated after all other components) it gives me as a final result a total different value which will affect my lcoe calcualtions.
Can someone perhaps explain to me why this happens? In my understanding I think the integral should give the same value, right?
Again thanks for any help!
Kind regards,
Michel
