Suhrid,
Usually what has happened in a situation like this is that you ran
the simulation once in a new place and it didn't find a file that it
was looking for. Unfortunately when TRNSYS doesn't find a file that
it thinks should exist, it creates a blank one. Then the next time
you run your sim, you get an "end of file" error.
Check the location of the file and look at the file size; its
probably 0KB. You can delete it and find the file in the original
location and move it over.
The best way to avoid problems like this is to always code the
full path to the file in the external files tab (starting with the
drive letter as in c:\Trnsys17\MyProjects\... etc.)
kind regards,
David

Hello,
I was running my simulation just fine, and then I moved the
location of one of the input files that I was using to inside
of the project folder itself. Now I get an error that says
this:
"The end of the input file was found before the END
statement was found"
Do you know what this means and how to fix this?

Suhrid
Suhrid,
assuming that you are using type 53, I
think the message does not necessarily indicates what
is the variable out of range, simply, that the type is
getting a COP either too big or too low for the data
you defined in the external performance file. Thus it
might be either the temperature difference, the
chiller power or the electrical consumption, wich are
the data you input through the external file, best

Hello David,
I am trying to include a chiller component
into my TRNSYS model. Get an error that says
the Chiller might be operating outside the
acceptable range. Is this range the range of
the cooling loads, the temperatures etc? What
exactly is it?

of file error
Suhrid,
Type15 rewinds the data file as soon as
it gets to the end so it shouldn't
get an "end of file" error unless the file
is blank. I'm guessing it might be best to
send your project to your distributor's
hotline though since it sounds as though
you are getting an end of file error when
you shouldn't be.

David

Thanks for the prompt

What do you fix if the end of
file is happening in type 15-2? It
tries to read the weather files in
the TMY2 format and some of them it
reads fine and some of them it
doesnt.

Suhrid
