Re: [TRNSYS-users] end of file error

Hello,

I was running my simulation just fine, and then I moved the location of one of the input files that I was using to inside of the project folder itself. Now I get an error that says this:

"The end of the  input file was found before the END statement was found"

Do you know what this means and how to fix this?

Regards,
Suhrid

Suhrid,

assuming that you are using type 53, I think the message does not necessarily indicates what is the variable out of range, simply, that the type is getting a COP either too big or too low for the data you defined in the external performance file. Thus it might be either the temperature difference, the chiller power or the electrical consumption, wich are the data you input through the external file, best

Hello David,

I am trying to include a chiller component into my TRNSYS model. Get an error that says the Chiller might be operating outside the acceptable range. Is this range the range of the cooling loads, the temperatures etc? What exactly is it?

Suhrid,
Type15 rewinds the data file as soon as it gets to the end so it shouldn't get an "end of file" error unless the file is blank. I'm guessing it might be best to send your project to your distributor's hotline though since it sounds as though you are getting an end of file error when you shouldn't be.

Thanks for the prompt response!
What do you fix if the end of file is happening in type 15-2? It tries to read the weather files in the TMY2 format and some of them it reads fine and some of them it doesnt.

Suhrid,
Check to make sure that the 10th parameter of Type51 sets the correct number of data points that are in your external file. The default value of the 10th parameter is 24. If your data file has less than 24 points in it then you'll need to modify the value of that parameter accordingly.

 David

Hello all,
I am trying to simulate a cooling tower Type 51 with an external file and the end of file is reached before the simulation ends. Does anyone know the fix to this?
