Re: [TRNSYS-users] TRNSYS-users Digest, Vol 124, Issue 1

Thank you for your answer Angel,

1) Yes but I have an heating district system with more than one component (boilers, tanks, absorption chiller for summer operation, ...) I don't know if I have to change the type of heat exchangers linked to the buildings (for summer operation)...

2) I don't know how to model a control system... I have to change the operation from winter to summer and the opposite. Could you help me?

Thank you again for your availability,

Kind Regards,
Laura

Thank you so much David for your answer!

I have another 2 questions:

1) In the case of summer operation, I have to "exchange the cold", so I have to use a cold heat exchanger that, powered by a cold fluid, must cool the another fluid. Which kind of heat exchanger I have to use? Which type do you suggest me?

2) I have to simulate both the winter operation and the summer operation. Is there a way to change the conditions of the system with its parameters during the same simulation?

Thank you again!
Kind regards,
Laura

I need a cogenerator, an engine which has a hot water flowrate and a certain temperature, as outputs. This is the reason why I asked for help with an ICE component and an heat generator.

Could you help me? Can I find a type for a cogenerator, an engine which has a hot water flowrate and a certain temperature, as outputs? I have Trnsys 16.1 with TESS library.

Thank you again!

Lally

Lally,
There is a diesel engine generator component available in the standard TRNSYS library (Type120). There is a different model of an internal combustion engine in the TESS CHP library (which is an add-on to the standard package). I am not sure what (specifically) you mean by a heat generator. There are quite a few TRNSYS components that simulate devices that generate heat.
kind regards,
 David

Thanks to everybody!

Dear Laura,

Heat exchangers in trnsys can work both for heating and cooling, you don't have to change the component due to this. Depending on the component you choose, in psrticular if the hx properties are inputs or parameters, you will end up with different hydtaulic layouts in your model: you can have two hx with mixers and diverters on the network side, or just one hx with the mixers and div on the generator side. I recommend you type 5 or type 91.
About changing the conditions, depends on what vonditions, but remember that parameters cannot be chaged during a simulation, regsrds
