Re: [TRNSYS-users] u value changes in TRNSYS

Enyuan,
The u-value (and g-value) shown in the upper right corner of the TRNBuild window type manager are for display only; these values are simply read out of the w-4 library. At the end of the file, you will find some lines that look like the following:

 11015 OPTWHITE15                                   15           5.5    0.87     0.852    0.075   0.90    1   15.00
 12001 Pilkington,OPTITHERM,Coating#3               4/16/4       1.3    0.64     0.516    0.213   0.76    2   24.00

The u-value fields are shown in red, the g-value (SHGC) values are shown in blue. You can write whatever numbers you want in those fields; TRNBuild picks them up and displays them.
Kind regards,
 David

Dear all,

Recently I used WINDOWS 6.3 to define a windows with desired properties. I manipulated the configuration so that the outcome u value is 1.88 which I wanted it to be. Following the window-defining tutorial, I was able to transport the information into TRNSYS by modifying the W4-lib file and Prgwin.lib file. However, when I selected it from the windows library, the shown value was 1.63. Can anyone provide some possible explanations? Thanks.

cheers,
Enyuan
