Hello Florian, and all who are looking to compile or debug in Fortran;
As I previously reported, I had success with the old Compaq Fortran 6.6 in Windows 8 in building and compiling types, but I was unable to get it into Debug mode.
However, I then discovered that intel has a 30 day eval copy for their compiler;

Works great!
Not sure what to do when it expires :(
Have fun,
Marcus

My experience with trying g95 is that although one can successfully compile and the model may appear to work, you may still be getting bad results. You'll have to modify almost all the auxillary modules like the data.f90 constants.f90 functions.f90 etc., before recompiling your dll. Although I solved many hassels, g95 did not support the 'decoration' of certain variable s the same way that intel compiler does. In the end I gave up on a work around. If your model is quite basic, this may not be an issue.Regards,Jean
Sent from my iPhoneFlorian,
While I don't have any personal experience with it, some users have had success writing new Types using the free G95 compiler. There are some hints and tips at:

Dear TRNSYS users,
at the moment i am developing a new component for use with TRNSYS Simulation Studio.
I have Microsoft Visual Studio but i do need a Fortran compiler. I wondered if someone here may have already created a component? I cant pay for the compiler so i would prefer freeware. Does anyone have any suggestions?
I would appreciate an answer of yours.Thanks a lot.
