Re: [TRNSYS-users] Starting point storage tank type 4

Michael,
When you say "start with an empty tank" I think you mean that you want to start with a cold tank, right? Type4 models a constant volume tank so that it always has the same amount of liquid in it. The "Derivatives" tab allows you to set the initial temperatures of each node in the tank. Also make sure that you answer the question on the derivatives tab as to how many nodes there are in the tank! If you do need a variable volume tank that can start out empty, you need to use Type39.

 David

Dear all,

is there an opportunity to start with an empty tank !? The tank is
always on a certain temperature if i start the simulation (e.g 50°C)
and the heat pump that is connected to type 4 only starts working
after a certain time period (Type 2Controllers). Is there a chance to
simulate that i start with heating up the storage ?

Best,
Michael
