Re: [TRNSYS-users] Refining Trnsed applications

Antoine,
You bring up some interesting ideas here.

First, the Studio plugin technology is not implemented in TRNSED; the Studio plugin corresponds between the plugin and the proforma and TRNSED doesn't use the proformas at all. As a result, you need to modify your GUI to use it with TRNSED. We've done this with the various components in the TESS Applications library.

Second, there is a way of launching plugins (not Studio plugins, mind you) but any *.exe really from TRNSED. Look at sections 6.10.5 and 6.10.7 of the TRNEdit documentation. You can also look at section 6.12.1.7; it explains a command called APPLINK that while technically obsolete, is still implemented in Trnsys17.

Best,
 David

Dear users

I would like to build an advanced GUI for a specific Trnsed application. Something similar to the plugins used by types 14 or 34.

I can think of 2 possible ways to do it.

1.     Linking my GUI application (*.exe) to the picture in the Main tab of Trnsed application: is the plug-in technology supported by Trnsed? In other words can I use an exchange file to make my GUI application communicate with Trnsed application?

2.     Creating a whole specific application with its own GUI that do not resort to Trnsed at all: is there a way to launch Trnsys in a batch mode that enables output plotters to be visible?

Being brand new to that kind of programming I would be grateful for any advice.

Best regards
