Re: [TRNSYS-users] TRNSYS-users Digest, Vol 89, Issue 19

hi everybody,

well, i am beginner with trnsys. I tried the example of the EES calling function but it's not working!
i asked some other people and it's the same for them!! do you have idea about it ?
otherwise, do you advice me to work with type107 instead of EES ? I need to make the modeling
of the solar cooling system for a building under Tunisian climate (it's a Bachelor thesis, so there's a pressure of time)

best regards.

PS: Thank you for clarification Mr. Jochen.

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] run simulation (use new component)
Dear Sirs,

I am a beginner user of TRNSYS so I am not sure if I use it in the right way. I want to use a new component which I receive but even though I copy paste the *.dll file of the PCM component to the exe folder of TRNSYS and the *.tmf to the proformas still have an error which says that " A TYPE was called in the TRNSYS input file but was either not linked into trndll.dll or was not found in an external dll. A dummy subroutine was called in its place. Please link the TYPE or remove it from the input file".
Thank you.

Regards,
Eva

The user-created DLL's don't go in the Exe folder.  They go in the correct spot in the UserLib directory (depends on whether the DLL was created as a release version DLL or a debug-version DLL).

Dear Dakhli,

type107 is a performance map type, i.e. you have to supply a table with (steady state) operatingg conditions from which the type takes its current performance (including interpolation).
When you use a calling function like calling EES, you have your chiller modelled in a different environment (here the Engineering Equation Solver). There you can have for example an advanced physical model, which might be hard or impossible to program in sequential fortran code as used for TRNSYS.

Best regards,
Jochen

Hi everybody,

i read some articles and i found that some people are using type107 in the
modelling of the machine
and some others are using the calling function of EES. So, what's the
difference between them ?

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] External data files for heat pump & absorbtion chiller
Dear all,

I need to use a water to water ground heat pump (type 668) and absorbtion chiller in my simulations. It seems to be very difficult to find product catalogues that include the information required in the external data files. Could someone with experience please tell me which manufacturers do provide this kind of information and perhaps send me a link. The only catalogue data file that I was able to for water to water heat pump was this one from Carrier:
