Re: [TRNSYS-users] Hydro Unit in Trnsys

Fergus,
If you are able to find some performance data for the hydro turbine then you could potentially use Type42, a generic performance-data reading and interpolating routine included in the standard HVAC library to model its behavior in the system. If you can point me toward whatever information you have about the turbine, I'd be interested in seeing it and in potentially helping you get a Type either set up to use the data or perhaps even writing one to do so.
Best,
 David

Hi All,

I am a newbie to Trnsys.

Currently I am investigating a small scale hybrid energy system for a local not for profit organisation in Northern Ireland.

The system has a wind turbine, biomass boiler and a small scale hydro turbine (75kW), supplying into the building load. Any excess they can spill onto the grid.

I wanted to model this scenario in Trnsys17, but the hydro component is missing. Is there an alternative methodology of simulating the hydro unit or has anyone developed a hydro component that I could use?

Thank you in advance for your assistance.
