Re: [TRNSYS-users] question about user weather data file

Dear Cristina,

Please refer to the new example in TRNSYS version 17.00.0019, 'Radiation_Processing.tpf'. It is located in the ".\Examples\Reading Data Files" directory of TRNSYS. It is fairly straight forward. We use Type9 data reader to read in the data from the site.

I advise you to be very cautious using the Type109 or Type99 as the data has to be in a particular format.

Best regards,

Matt Duffy

Hi,

You can do this simply by replacing the default "Type 109 - TMY2" with a Type 99 (Weather data reading and processing -> User format).
The advantage is that Type 99 processes the solar radiation the same way as Type 109 and has the same output.

Moreover, when the Type 99 is put in the Studio, there is an example file in "External files" tab, and you can just adapt it.

Hope this helps,
Damien
