Johannes -
This error can be caused by a mismatch between your TrnOpt version and
your TESS lib's version. Please check with your distributor that you have
the most recent version of TrnOpt 16 or 17.
Regards,
Tim

Subject:[TRNSYS-users] TrnOpt
Dear TRNsys Users,
Probably this question was already asked before, but I couldn´t find it.
So I hope
Someone could help me out with my problem.
I wanted to use TRNOpt (TrnOpt 16_1) for the optimization of my trnsys
model (Trnsys 17).
When I start the optimization, TRNsys works, my simulation is running, but
when GenOpt
starts I receive an error message on the GenOpt window:
Initialize.
genopt.lang.OptimizerException:
Error in searching for the objective function value:
The objective function value could not be found.
- Check the optimization ini file for
the prober value of SimOutputFile.
- Check the SimOutputFile for the prober
structure.
- Check the optimization configuration file for
the prober value of the objective function delimiter.
Objective function delimiter is 'Variable Value 001 ='.
GenOpt terminated with error.
See logfile for further information.
This error occurred also when I tried the TrnOpt Example.
Can anyone help me with this problem
Thanks a lot
Best
Johannes

Thanks for your answer, but unfortunately, it doesn't work for me.
I get this error in the list file
Generated by Type : 49
Message : An error was found in the supplied values. Please check the data carefully.
I made a very simple test with a unique square zone and its soil, and it's the same.
The Soil Noding File.dat file contains :0 0 2 2is this correct ?
0.0 0.0
For information :
Zone Areas.txt contains "Zone 1: 22.11m2"
delta.txt containsdeltaX 1 is: 5.06
deltaY 1 is: 4.37

You use the ***_Soil Noding File.dat file. The other two contain the zone areas and the X and Y distances used by the models. These other two files can be used to check for problems.

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] Soil Noding plugin output file
Hi,
In the Slab on grade model manual, I can see that the output file created in SketchUp by the Soil Noding plugin is like "_report.txt".
My plugin created only these three files :
***_Soil Noding File.dat
***_Zone Areas.txt
***_delta.txt
So I wonder which one to use in Type 49 ?
I guess the difference in my case is that SketchUp wasn't installed when I installed TRNSYS 17, so I had to copy the "TRNSYS17/Tools/SoilNoding/TRNSYS_SlabNodingProgram_v2.rb" in "SketchUp/plugins".
(I also noticed that the SketchUp plugin menu (on top of the screen), the plugin appears as "TESS Soil Noding Program" instead of "SoilNoding_2D" like in the manual's screenshot.)
Thanks for your help
(and excuse me for the huge number of questions...)
Damien

Dear Damien,
I apologize I did not catch this earlier, but you are using the out-dated version of the noding plugin. Please contact your local TRNSYS distributor to obtain the *_v3.rb which was released in TRNSYS version 17.00.0018 (the current version is 17.00.0019) if you do not have it already.
Best regards,
Matt Duffy

Hello Erwan,
I apologize, but I do not have much experience with the component. However, there are two examples that demonstrate the use of the component in the following directory, ".\Examples\Feedback Control".
Best regards,

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] Questions about PID 23
Hello everybody,
I'm a new trnsys user…
Currently, I simulates an heating coil (type 670) with fan (type 662) regulated by a PID type 23. I fixed an input temperature outside, incoming air flow, HR, pressure and inlet fluid temperature of heating coil.
My goal is to analyze the functioning of the PID 23. It regulates the heating coil fluid flow rate by comparing the output temperature of the fan to a set temperature
(gain Kp = 10 ^-4 and Ti = 10 ^-4; Td = 0).
By several simulations, I noticed that:
_The time step simulation is significant in the convergence of the regulator (Doesn't it perform iterations between each time step?). A large time step does not allow the system converge.
_Acting on the gain of the PID, convergence can be possible! Do you know why there is a dependency of these two parameters?
_PID values, gain and Ti (integration time) are not to my knowledge in the orders of magnitude of value of real PID of this system... why this difference in value?
If you have some information and/or model working fine about the PID 23...
Thanks!!!
