Hi Philip,

We included pre-existing fortran solutions (IVF) or workspaces (IVF) that
are ready for the user to either add their own component or recompile a
DLL. You should be able to simply open the *.sln (if you have IVF) or the
*.dsw (CVF) in the “.\Compilers\...” directory. Those pre-existing
settings are for your TRNSYS directories do not have much relevance in
your case.

Best regards,

Matt Duffy

Subject:[TRNSYS-users] Compyling with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010
onWindows 7

Dear All,

has anyone compiled a TRNSYS Type with Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 on
Windows 7 and
Intel Visual Fortran 2010 (using TRNSYS17)?
I face many problems with trying so (modifying Type 551 in special)...

One question is, what .exe file do I have to specify in the  TRNSYS Settings-
Directories for "Fortran Environment"?
Standard  setting should be :C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual
Studio\Common\MSDEV98\BIN\dfdev.exe I guess...
But for MS VS 2010 I can not find the dfdev.exe file.
The C++ environment path should change as well then I guess, right?

and what about the compiler command "msdev.exe" ? What should I use here?

Up to what I've read till now it makes sense to use a windows XP machine
and Compaqu
Visual fortran 6.6B.
Then the compiling should be pretty straight forward.
Can someone confirm that, or give any advice?

I am currently reading into "language W" and "W editor" from CSTB as well
to check
wether this would do the job.

Would be great to get some input from the experience users out there!!

Thanks a lot in advance!!!

Best,
Philip

Dear Augustin,

The only difference is that the data file is normalized, so you can scale the rated capacity, flow rate, and power of the device without having to create different data files each time. Yes, both components have heating and cooling.

I can send you a PDF of the parameters/inputs/outputs when I get back to the office on Monday if that would help.

Best regards,

Matt Duffy

Thank you for answering.
I have read the summarised description of the components (in TESS Lib.), but to me, apart from the two stages, it seems to be similar to Type 668. Is that easier to produce those normalized data files for the user than with Type 668. Does the two-stage component accept both Heating and Cooling control signal?
Is it possible to find the detailed description of these components, with their inputs and outputs, to know if they match with the use I am expecting?

Kind regards,
Augustin CUQ

Dear Augustin,

Yes, there is a better component. Type668 evolved into Type927 (single stage) and Type1221 (two stage). These components have normalized data files, so you can scale the capacity/power accordingly. These components are in the TESS Libraries 17.

Best regards,

Matt Duffy

Subject: [TRNSYS-users] Water-to-Water Thermofrigopump - Type 668

Hi everyone,

I am trying to model a "thermofrigopump", to obtain both cooling and heating gains through a device.
After calculating the most important demand between heating and cooling demands, the idea is to generate heat if heating demands is higher (or to cool the fluid in the other case) and to use either the annex cold production or the annex heat production for others uses. So that I need a heat pump system which calculates both heat and cool power.
I was thinking to use Type 668 to model that. Is their a better Type to do that and is that relevant?

Thank's in advance for helping me, and sorry for the english mistakes..

Dear Mr Matt Duffy:
Followed your suggestions, i upgrade my TRNSYS to the newest model 17.00.0019. but i still have the same problem.
and i found a new problem, after i modified the wall materials and roof materials and rerun it, the software give a very weird graph.for example , room temperature is extremely low which doesn't make sense.
would you please help me take a look at my system ? i will attach the TPF files and B17 files.
Thank you in advance,  i am confused for this curious one a long time and really hope i will get the answers as soon as possible.

It should still work, but I am not 100% sure. I still strongly suggest you upgrade to v 17.00.0019.

Dear Jiang Zhu,

Please make sure that you are using the latest version of Trnsys17. There was a known bug with Type108 in version 16.
