Re: [TRNSYS-users] Question about TRNSYS-SBM and Type 557 Vertical U-tube Ground Heat Exchanger
Hello,
I have worked with the SBM (TRNSYS 16, I did some programming work and it
took me some time) and for an 1-year simulation with an BTES with 528 BHE,
solar collectors ... (no heat pump) it took about 12 hours. May be it's a
little faster with newer computers.
Best regards,
Janet Nußbicker-Lux

U-tube Ground Heat Exchanger
Hello, Cao.
I have no information what the SBM is based on? I guess it is developed
from
Eskilson's model or the finite line source model. If so, I think the
simulation time should not be too long (of course it will be much longer
than
the DST model). I am currently using a three-dimensional numerical model
developed by myself and it occasionally takes days of time to perform a
ten-year simulation. Hence, I think the SBM model should at most need hours
of
time. Concerning the conversion of the model to suit TRNSYS 17, it should
not
be too complicated if you are familiar with Fortran.
