Re: [TRNSYS-users] windows in Trnsys

Dear Mr. Beuckelaer!

Type35a/b (Windows) could be used for a "manual" window; the ratio of energy transmittance must be supplied as an input.

When You create a TRNSYS-glazing in window5 You HAVE TO CHOOSES A FIX frame to avoid a TRNSYS-error. TRNSYS ignores this fixed frame.

Betreff: [TRNSYS-users] windows in Trnsys

Dear Trnsys-users,

I?ve some question concerning windows in Trnsys. When you want to implement a window (with a known U-value and g-value) but there is no corresponding window in the library, can you somewhere adapt the U-value and g-value?

I know you can use window5 to make a new window in your library, but sometimes I don?t know the layers of my window but just the U-value en g-value. Can you adapt perhaps the values of the additional heat resistance of an external shading device to achieve the wanted value? Or adapt the U-value of the profile?

When you do use window5: you have to introduce a profile too.  But in trnsys, you select the created window under ?Glazing?. Do you then still have to introduce the U-value of the profile in Trnsys or ? ?

Thanks in advance,
