You could use free version of Microsoft
Visual Studio 2005 with C++ (I remember that it may be express version for MS VC++
2005). That is enough for developing your own C++ component for TRNSYS. Of course, if you are familiar
to Fortan programming you may try that as the core of TRNSYS is written by Fortran
language. In that way, you could use an trial version for Intel Fortran
Developing suite which can be downloaded from Intel website. After evaluation,
you may have an idea what is the best for you. qichao Email : QiChao.Zhu@sg.panasonic.com Tel: (65)6550 5324 From: Hal Gurgenci
[mailto:h.gurgenci@uq.edu.au] Has
anyone used the LCC compiler to generate a component defined by a C function? I
spent the last three hours trying to get it working but I am afraid I will let
it go. It is beyond me. I probably have to buy a “Microsoft Visual
Studio.Net” although I have no idea what it is. I am assuming it
works ? as promised in the TRNSYS Manual. The
other option, probably safer, would be to buy a Compaq Fortran compiler (the
recommended compiler in the manual) and try to remember Fortran. Any
comment as to which way I should go would be most appreciated. Professor H Gurgenci, +61 7 3365 3607,Building
