Re: [TRNSYS-users] GenOpt Java heap space error

Dear Jeff, Dear all,

The simulation runs perfectly in TRNSYS with the same parameters as the initialization simulation in GenOpt, and completes in a few minutes.
When I choose to display the TRNSYS progress bar while running GenOpt, I can check that the TRNSYS simulation terminates. But, then, there is this very long pause, and after that the error message prompts in GenOpt window.

I thus suspect that the problem lies in the communication of the simulation results between TRNSYS and GenOpt.

Best regards,
Benoît

<However, when I couple TRNOpt with this simulation, GenOpt only runs the
Initialization simulation, and then "waits" for about one to two hours and
stops, prompting the following error message:

Initialize.
java.lang.OutOfMemoryError:
Java heap space

GenOpt terminated with error.>

Check one thing for me.  Does the simulation run (outside of the GenOpt
environment) with the same parameters that is causing the problems inside
of Genopt.  What I mean is that if GenOpt is killing with a=10 and b=5 and
c=6, does setting a=10, b=5 and c=6 in a regular simulation cause any
problems?

Let us know!

Jeff
