Re: [TRNSYS-users] information about Tape 557 Transys
The use of the “Number of simulation years” is briefly
explained in the Simulation Studio under the "More" tab. It is
my understanding that this parameter is used to internally generate an
appropriate mesh size and extent for the finite difference calculations.
So, depending on the years of your simulation, heat fluxes will propagate
from the center of the grid to the edges, and temperatures may build up
(or deplete) incorrectly at the grid boundaries if the overall finite difference
grid size is not large enough. In short, the Duct Storage Model uses this
value of “Number of simulation years” to properly size the finite difference
grid.
Hope this helps.
