Dear TRNSYS users,
I am modelling a thermal screen in a greenhouse by using a virtual window between lower and upper zones to include the shading effects when the screen is closed but also to have a g-value of 1 when the screen is open (no shading). My question is: How should I set the convective heat transfer coefficients of this "window"? I thought perhaps it was a good idea to use 11 kJ/hr,m2,K (standard inside value) when the screen is fully closed and a very high value (for example 3600 kJ/hr,m2,K) when the screen is fully opened, to indicate that the window is actually "gone". However, this leads to very steep temperature changes when the screen is opened/closed from one time step to the next, and is not good for solution convergence.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
Kind regards,
