Dear users, I am currently modelling and simulating CSHPSS with TRNSys
and i built 2 models (see attached pics for hydraulic schemes) : 1. A plant like the one in Friedrichshafen, with a water
tank as seasonal storage (no DUCT storage). 2. The same but without the Seasonal storage (only
Collectors - Buffer - Distribution Net). For general info : Seasonal storage : Type342 Buffer Tank : Type534 Demand : 1100 MWh/year Collectors : 2200 m² Seasonal : 4400 m3 Buffer : 100 m3 Mass Flow Rates in Collectors : 18 kg/hr/m² Net Temperatures (depart/return) : 70/40 °C I searched the Litterature and found that these values are
quite OK for a CSHPSS. Should you think some of them are Over/Under-estimated,
please let me know. Solar fractions obtained for the 3rd year of use are the
following : 1. 42.2 % 2. 32.7 % I stop the simulations after the 3rd year because at that
time, i observe a stationary behaviour. As visual results, I can clearly see that case 1. offers
more Fs in winter months, so the seasonal behaviour is met when expected.
However, considering the high price of a Seasonal Storage, and seeing such a
poor gain in Fs for the whole year, I now wonder if a seasonal storage is that
usefull … Have anyone ever asked himself the same question and experienced
the same results ?
