The part of the wall that has the window needs to be defined as an
EXTERNAL wall. The part of the wall that has the solar collectors on it
is a BOUNDARY wall. As for the solar collectors themselves, there
aren't any such models in the standard library. The model to which I
was referring is Type563, a building integrated PVT (photovoltaics and
thermal) collector. You'll need to review the mathematical description
carefully in order to do it correctly but if you set the parameters so
that the PV efficiency is 0, the device is simply a thermal building
integrated collector that calculates the back-side surface temperature
that needs to be passed to the BOUNDARY wall. Kind regards, David a8304506@graduate.hku.hk wrote: Hello, David. Thank you for your reply, but I find two problems. The first one is that for a BOUNDARY wall, no window can be added. The second one is that I can't find any suitable proformas for the solar collectors which have the input and output variables as mentioned. Do you have other suggestions? You then need a collector model that takes either the energy conducted through its back side or the inside surface temp of the wall and which calculates the temperature of the interface between the wall and the collector. I believe that there are some models like that in the TESS Green Building Library. Kind regards, david a8304506@graduate.hku.hk wrote:Hello, Trnsys users. I want to simulate a solar cooling system with the solar collectors mountedonthe external wall of a building. I suppose that I add an active layer ontheexternal of the wall with an input equivalent heat transfer coefficient forthesolar collectors. However, I don't konw how I can output that value fromthesolar collector models (say Type71, Type73). Can anyone advise how I canmakeit? Thank you!
