Re: [TRNSYS-users] FW: CVF6.6

Hi!

Adding to this, there is also a newer version CVF6.6C available for download, which should not be used either (remembering from the manual or earlier discussion on this mailing list).

I think I made the mistake once that I assumed that the newer version should handle at least the older stuff the same way as the earlier version, but this was not the case, so I had to downgrade back to CVF6.6B.

Kind regards

Janne

Max,
To add to Werner's comment, CVF version 6.6b is used to compile the TRNDll. If you are using a different build of the CVF 6.6 compiler (6.6a for example), that may be the cause of the problem.
Kind regards,
 David

Max,

These errors seem to indicate that the .obj files used by type 56 are not compatible with your compiler – are you using the correct compile project? (If the problem persists, you should obtain an update for the .obj files for type 56).

But if you just want to debug your type, I think it is not necessary to recompile trndll.dll (this was the case in old versions of TRNSYS, 15 and before).

Please look at the attached example: in this configuration, you will NOT be able to debug, as the DLL loaded (white output window) is not the one debugged (blue window on top).

It doesn’t matter if TRNDLL is in debug mode or not, you just need to load the right DLL into the debugger – that sort of problem has nothing to do with TRNSYS in particular, it’s the way the debugger works.

Werner

Max,
The first thing to make sure of is that you need to rebuild the DLL with your Types from the newly installed CVF. I would also recommend deleting all of the intermediate files that CVF has created in making the new DLL. These are usually in the ..\Trnsys16_1\Compilers\...\Debug and ..\Release folders and have the extension *.obj
Kind regards,
 David

Dear TRNSYS users,

I have written a type with CVF 6.6. Y could Debug it without any problems before. After reinstalling the computer, I installed both TRNSYS and CVF again implemented my typs, and the simulations run without a problem. When I try to debug the tzpes in CVF the simulation does not stop at the b reakpoints. The simulation just run trough (or gives an error) but does not stop at the setted breakpoints. I suspect the DF60.PDB file to have to do something with the problem because when I debug sometimes CVF asks locate the DF60.PDB file. I indicate the location in the userlibs\debug and then the CVF gives and error and needs to be closed. After this procedure the project does not seem to be debugable anymore. I am a bit confused! Maybe someone can help me?

Tanks in advance
