Re: [TRNSYS-users] Type 62 Excel - Initial Procedure in VBA

Carsten,
I am not sure that Type62 is going to be much help. I wonder if you could write an Excel macro that saves your results in a tab delimited text file which could be read by Type9. Of course Type9 will read the file every time step but the data read doesn't take much time. If you need the results of your Excel sheet as parameters to other TRNSYS components in your simulation, then you can look at using Type70, which reads a text file of parameter values, then replaced those values that are already set in the proformas.
Kind regards,
 David

Dear all,

I have a question about the type 62 for coupling TRNSYS with Excel. I use some user defined Visual Basic functions in my Excel sheet, which have a high number of parameter input. The parameters are defined in the worksheet. To speed up I would like to declare those parameters a static variables in the vba – modul.

And now my question: Is there a procedure call from TRNSYS, which is only called once in the beginning of the simulation? Because I want to read the parameters from the worksheet into the static variables only once and not for each time step and iteration call.

Best regards

Carsten Heinrich
