Re: [TRNSYS-users] High time step and time base

Manuel,
Your simulation time step and Type56 time base do not have to match. The time step must be shorter than the time base and the time base should be a multiple of the time step but there are no other restrictions. You could have a 15 minute time step and a 2 hour time base if needed.

As for Type54 and Type16. Adrian's comment is quite correct; make sure that you have the time of last read and time of next read hooked up. Type54 reads its own data file; you must add your location's data to the file read by Type54. The necessary data is 12 values of average total daily radiation on the horizontal (one value for each month), 12 values of monthly average ambient temperature and 12 values of monthly average humidity ratio. Type9 is an alternative to Type54 (it reads a different kind of data file). Both Type9 and Typr54 are designed to feed information into Type16.

Kind regards,
 david

Hi users,

I want to have energy need simulation of a building with time step and time base 2-4 h. Is it possible? Because of type 54 can’t have time steps higher than 1h, how can I introduce outputs of type 54 in type 16? Reading them by type 9?

I tried to do it, but an error message said that I have to check time of last and next data read, but I had already modified in 2h time step them.

Thank you in advance

Manuel
