[TRNSYS-users] Type 701 error



Hi Lucas,
 
I suspect that your error has to do with the number of nodes set up in Type 701. The number of parameters depends on the total number of nodes you have. At the end of the list of parameters you need to specify the total nodes in x, y, and z-direction; make sure these are correct. The nodes in each direction are the nodes along the boundary wall plus the nodes on both sides of the boundary.

I am trying to model a basement in conjunction with a building model

Dear transys users
Currently I am working on simulating a parabolic trough power plant.
On trough component model, There is term on a model which  I couldn't
understand  turn down ratio, night flow ratio, Ramp down time Ramp
down ratio. Please give me the brief description and the values that
should be inserted on the input of Transys regarding SEGS 6 Power
plant.

I heard this could be solved by changing the density and capacity of the layer that causes the problem (here, a ceiling wood structure insulated with 40cm of wood fiber pannels (Steico))
But I cannot do this because I want to evaluate the impact of the inertia on the inside temperatures.
I tried by deviding the material in 2 layers: one would have the same inertia and the other, massless, would bring the thermical resistance. It doesn't work, stability criteria is still not fullfilled...
 
Can someone help me?

Dear TRNSYS-user,

    In the SOLCEL data file, the short current for low concentration and
temperature is higher than the one for high concentration and low
temperature. Isn't suppose to be the other way around, since the current
increases with radiation? The value for the low and high concentration at
high temperature is also the same !(Ref: 8.4.4.14)
    I edited the proforma to allow the concentration ratio to be grater
than 1. I also edited the SOLCELL file and increased the number of cells.
Here are the results

C = 25                       
Num    Tout    Tcell    V    I    Q[kWth]    P[kWe]
10    40    52    4.9    19    0.54        0.093
50    40    52    24.5    3.8    0.54        0.093
100    40    52    49    1.9    0.54        0.093

The voltage is increasing as you would expect, but why is the current
decreasing? It seems like the current is adjusted to keep the power output
the same.What I'm trying to do is to fix the size of the collector to
provide 2kwe and 2 kwth.

Check the thicknesses of your wall layers, layers that are too thin are generally the cause of this error. If you've got any really thin layers, consider using a massless layer and just define a resistance for it, as its mass is probably negligible (which is why the transfer functions freak out).

Check the thicknesses of your wall layers, layers that are too thin are generally the cause of this error. If you've got any really thin layers, consider using a massless layer and just define a resistance for it, as its mass is probably negligible (which is why the transfer functions freak out).
