Re: [TRNSYS-users] Pergola as Shading mask

Murielle,
You are correct that when calculating the shaded radiation falling on a facade, Type34 assumes that the overhang and wing walls are opaque. However, Type34 also outputs the fraction of the facade that is shaded and the fraction that is unshaded. If you were able to define a translucence for the pergola (in other words the pergola doesn't fully block the sun but only some part of it. The translucence would be a measure of the fraction of sunlight that is allowed through either when vegetated or unvegetated.) then I think you could use the Type34 shading fractions, adjusted for a translucent overhang.
Kind regards,
 David

Dear trnsys users,

I?d like to modelize the effect of a pergola, with or without vegetation, on a window.
It doesn?t seems to be possible with ?Type 34?.
Does anyone has an idea about that?

Best regards,

Murielle Douté
