Re: [TRNSYS-users] Exterior wall against ground

Title: Exterior wall against ground

Hello Daniel,

The easiest way is to model the ground using a ‘boundary’ with a constant temperature.

The difficulty is in determining the ground temperature.

When the wall is thermally well isolated, the ground temperature will roughly become equal to the annual average ground temperature of the area (provided the wall is large enough for edge effects to be negligible).

When the wall is not thermally isolated, the ground temperature will gradually increase, and after a couple of years the ground temperature just below the wall will get close to the average temperature of the zone.(again neglecting edge effects) The heat loss will become less every year.

Hello everybody

Can anyone, tell me whats the best way to simulate a external wall against the ground.
How can I define the ground ??

Thanks in advance

Mit freundlichen Grüssen / Kind regards
