Re: [TRNSYS-users] cooling coil

Dear Ming,

I do not know what level of complexity you need for your model, but you may try using a heat exchanger (Type5). It is a very basic component that only takes into account overall energy balance: you need the thermal capacitance of the two streams, their mass flow rates and inlet temperatures. If you provide the effectiveness, you will get the outlet temperatures. I do not know if this is too simple for your project.
Best regards,

Diego

Hello everyone,

I need a component “Cooling Coil” to setup my model. One side is the secondary coolant; its inlet temperature is about -29C. The other side is air; its inlet temperature is about -22C. However, in the Cooling Coil (Type32 & Type52) in TRNSYS, air is assumed to exchange heat with water. I can not set the inlet water temperature to a minus value.

Is there anyone know what component I can use instead of Type 32 and Type 52?

Thanks in advance!

Ming
