Re: [TRNSYS-users] instantenous value can be calculated by TRNSYS (TYPE 45)

Dear Mohammad,

In TRNSYS, all variables are treated as average values over the simulation time step, and the convention is that values are reported at the end of the time step. So if TRNSYS outputs an ambient temperature of 2.5 at a given TIME=2, it means the average temperature between 01:00 and 02:00 was 2.5 (assuming that the time step is one hour). I would recommend that you follow this email thread in the emailing list archive:
https://www.cae.wisc.edu/pipermail/trnsys-users/2005/000785.html

A different question is, how does TRNSYS model the dynamic behavior of the components? Some components assume quasi-steady solution while others require the solution of first order differential equations on time. For the case of Type45, it assumes a quasi-steady solution. You should refer to 'Volume 5- Mathematical Reference' for the specific information about the components that you plan to use.

Best regards,

Diego

Hi
if any one could help me and explain this:
TRNSYS is transient simulation program, is it able to
give an instantenous value let us see for example TYPE
45 which is thermosyphon solar water heaters, is it
able to give instantenous temperature distribution or
mass flow rate in the circultion loop. or it just
gives an average values over the time interval suggest
in the calcualtion as type45 quasi-steady state.
thanks in advance
