Re: [TRNSYS-users] air temperature, type 56

Hi Timo,
By default, TRNBuild sets the capacitance of the zone as 1.2*Volume of the zone. This value only takes into account the mass of the air. You may want to increase that value to take into account the mass of the furniture and equipment, which may affect the transient performance of the zone.
Please let me know if this helps.

Hello all!
For a long time now I have been wondering about the behaviour of room temperatures in type 56 zones. How is it that the air temperature drops instantly after heat loads (computers, lights, users) are turned off? In the attached file you will find an example result of a single zone. I modeled a typical office application with an occupant, light and some other gains. There is NO air change set for this zone. I reality you encounter a completely different behaviour. After you left the office on a sunny day and turned off your computer the temperature wouldn't drop within minutes. Or am I wrong? Thanks for your help!
Best regards

Timo
