Re: [TRNSYS-users] about multifunctional façade that includes PV, air gap and phase change material

Gonca,

I think you might need to consider writing a Type. I don't think that this is a configuration that can be easily made up of existing components. We've written models of PVs that have a PCM backing and we've written some ventilated facade models but have not had occasion to couple the two. I think the energy balance between all the elements of the facade is too complex not to be solved all in one go inside a Type that is written specifically to model the situation.

I am not familiar with Type285. There is a free PCM layer component available in TRNLib (https://sel.me.wisc.edu/trnsys/trnlib/library16.htm#thermalstorage). I have never had occasion to use it myself.

kind regards,

 David

Hello there,

I'm looking for a type to analyze a multifunctional façade that includes PV, air gap and phase change material. However, I cannot see the mathematical background of the types containing pcm. In addition, I can only see the price of Type-1270 among the paid types. Where should I look for other pcm types? For example, where can I learn the price of type 285?

good work
