Dear TRNSYS users,

I am modelling a closed loop containing of Type 670 (water to air HX), Type 10 (thermal storage) and Type 642 (Fan). In fact, I am going to charge the thermal storage by using hot air exiting from Type 670.

You can imagine, cold air after passing through the Type 670 and exchanging heat with hot water (90 C) , becomes hot (75 C) and then enters the Type 10 (rock bed thermal storage). In this stage, hot air transfers its energy to storage. Finally, cold air enters the type 670 fan and returns to it.

By passing the time, the thermal storage becomes gradually charged, so the outlet and inlet temperatures are approximately equal. Therefore, the inlet and outlet temperatures of the Type 670 (HX) must also be the same. However, after charging the thermal storage, the HX outlet temperature increases continuously (It reaches a temperature of 105 degrees Celsius, which is higher than the temperature of water as its heat source) until an error message is displayed.

I would appreciate it if anyone could assist me in this case.

Best Regards,

Ali
