Re: [TRNSYS-users] differential controller

No, I have not tried yet, but from reading this type I need 3 stages for heating source and two for cooling. In my case I only have one output source for heating from boiler to tank and have one also output lower temperature from tank returned to the boiler (closed-loop) and I need to control on/off the boiler for working only in ranges 80-90 oC in summer and 35-45 in winter, So it doesn't make sense for me to use this type or how can I use it for this requirement?

Sherif

Have you tried type 108

Hello Mukhtar,
I have a thermal storage tank after boiler as a heating tank and another one after absorption chiller as a cooling tank so I think to control the boiler on/off and works in ranges I mentioned in summer and winter I need to use this differential one .as for the room I will consider what David said about the simple thermostat and will use it , but still the problem for me about the boiler. thanks for advance for helping me.

Sherif

Dear Sherif

What I know about the differential controller is that it's used in case of thermal storage exist. However, in your case there is no storage. So, l don't think that it is a good idea to use the differential. There are some other good choices.

Good luck

checked Thanks, I have another question I used a differential controller to the boiler type 700 and need temperature out of it in the range between 80-90 in summer(cooling season) to supply absorption chiller and need temperature in winter(heating season) in the range of 30-45. I linked the upper input Temp.(Th) to outlet of the boiler, linked the lower input Temp.(TL) to the return flow from the tank to the boiler. for monitoring Temp. (Tin),upper dead band(dt) and lower dead band(dt) I don't really know how to link or what value should be. could anyone help, please?, Thanks in advance.

Sherif,

There are a number of examples in the .\Trnsys18\Examples\HVACTemplates\ folder that will give you some ideas about how to implement control of HVAC systems. Have a look at the 10-Examples.pdf documentation in parallel with those examples. I don't think that any of them have a radiant floor in them but the principals are the same.

You might also have a look at the example:

.\Trnsys18\Examples\Feedback Control\SunSpace - Floor heating PID controller.tpf

Its controls are possibly more complicated than the ones in your case but it will show how to do the system-level connections between Type56's active layers and the HVAC system.

kind regards,

 David

Hello everyone,

I need help in some controls on radiant cooling and heating system model like type 165 to control either boiler for heating system or control building temperatures, also need to control on different components for the cooling system to work uniformly according to season if summer cooling system work and if winter will work the heating system and so on . I have problems in PPD and PMV for building through all year. if anyone would help or have an example model for how I can set these controllers in two systems?
