Amit,
I would recommend that you save the data as a comma separated value (*.csv) file and then read it into TRNSYS using Type9. If you are reading in solar radiation data then you will need to pass that from Type9 to Type16 for processing.
kind regards,
David
Hi..Everyone.
I want to use my location data but there is no data available in TRNSYS weather file. I have my data in excel form but when i convert it into weather file by macro it shows error . There is any other method to convert excel weather data into weather file.
Thanks for your kind support and time

Dear David,
I supposed that you did not understand my question. My problem is I am only measuring POA (not GHI).
That is why I do not know how to use POA in Type 99. Is it possible to substitude in external file as given below ?
The other thing, if it is not possible, how can I calculate GHI from POA ?
Thanks in advance. I hope it is clear now.

Huseyin,
I think that your point 2 is the right direction. You can read your data (including GHI) using Type9 and then feed GHI, T, and RH to a Type16 radiation processor. Type16 has a number of algorithms for estimating solar on tilted surfaces. The most basic of these requires only GHI but there is an improved algorithm that takes GHI, T, and RH.
kind regards,
David

Hi everyone,
I am currently working on a modeling of solar PV aided AC with backup system. In this regard, we experimentally measured the weather data, namely temperature (T), relative humidity (RH), wind velocity (WV), wind direction (WD) and tilted irradiance (POA). However, when I used the model Type 99 I realized that the external file of it covers only global horizontal irradiance (GHI). As I said, we only measured the POA.
My questions are ;
- Is it possible to define POA instead of GHI in external file. Because, I saw that there is an opportunity for users to define four different variables. But I do not know how to entitled POA in here.
- Is it possible to calculate GHI from POA by using radiation processors ? They are all created in case of GHI or other horizontal irradiances known?
- IF you know something else pls. let me know?
Thanks in advance.
