Re: [TRNSYS-users] change wall properties in trnedit

Salma,

TRNEdit is really just a text editor that has some special features to make editing *.dck and *.trd files a bit easier. You can modify the thickness of layers in your *.b18 file using a text editor. There isn't any real reason to use TRNEdit; you can use notepad or a different text editor.

If you are asking how to put different layer thicknesses into a TRNEdit table so that you can run a parametric study then I am afraid that there isn't a way to do that automatically. Your best course of action would be to create a *.b18 file that corresponds to each run you want to do in your parametric study and then to create an ASSIGN statement in the dck for each *.b18. You'll then make the Type56 *.b18 logical unit number parameter into a variable name that is set in the TRNEdit table.

kind regards,

 David
